The Journey Begins

“And an old insistence – sometimes difficult to summon, but there none the less – that we will find a way beyond fear of each other, beyond bellicosity, a way into our humanity.”-Arthur Miller

Dear Quester,

Thank you for taking the time off to visit my blog, thehumblehumanists . The site is a collection of my thoughts and recollections not at random but about very specific and pertinent matters that plague my during times of introspection, bouts of which I ail from rather frequently.  In addition the I feel it absolutely necessary to pen down my thoughts, or they tend to get a little bothersome. (Worms that wriggle around my brain, within my skull, picking off bits of sanity)

The reason for the rather odd site name is because I Identify with Humanists, a school of thought in psychology with brilliant thinkers like Abraham Maslow and Carl Rogers. In addition to that I believe that something terrible has happened to our race to humanity as a whole. One cannot help but feel reading about all the murders, terror attacks, corruption and rape and so much else. We have become less more, we have taken the humane out of humanity and that saddens me and I’m guessing you too dear reader. One seems to have become so superficial in a congealed way with all the entertainment, false news and advertisements they feed us, corroding our intellectual faculties and making us scared to break out of the status quo and pretend like all is well in the world when its not. What is the greater tragedy is not speaking up at all in my opinion. It is better to be snuffed out instantly, as a blazing wildfire of individuality, than feebly live long like a dying ember.

Maybe its time to realize that the true triumph is not a display of intellectual prowess or technological advancements, but rather the triumph of the more humbler greatly sidelined but profoundly humane qualities of empathy, kindness, courage and patience.

Just know that you have a stand and a voice amidst the cacophony around. You, in your person can take a stand to make things better.

This is my stand.
